Дівчина перетворила свою хворобу на витвір мистецтва: ефектні фото

Для 12-річної Ешлі діагноз "вітіліго" став справжнім шоком. Ніхто достеменно не знає причин виникнення білих плям на шкірі, і на сьогоднішній день не існує ліків, здатних усунути їх.

Кожне образливе слово ранило дівчинку, і їй знадобилося майже 10 років, щоб не просто примиритися зі своєю новою зовнішністю, але і перетворити своє власне "дивне" тіло на витвір мистецтва.

Зараз Ешлі Сото (Ashley Soto) з Флориди 21 рік і вона знайшла спосіб змиритися зі своїм діагнозом. На сьогоднішній день вітіліго мають тільки 1% населення Землі. На жаль, деякі з коментарів людей, які розглядають дівчину, бувають досить жорстокими. Так, Ешлі досі пам'ятає, як одна дівчинка запитала її, чи не виправ її хто з відбілювачем.

Щоб їй не доводилося відповідати на такі незручні запитання, Ешлі довгий час приховувала свої плями: вона носила кофти з довгим рукавом і високим горлом, не одягала нічого, що відкривало б її ноги, і всіляко намагалася замаскувати плями на обличчі за допомогою косметики.

Для підлітка виділятися не з власної волі означало дуже багато - дівчинка відчувала себе ізгоєм, їй здавалося, що весь світ налаштований проти неї через її незвичайний зовнішній вигляд. Адже нікого поруч з такою ж проблемою не було.

Тоді різниця між різними кольорами моєї шкіри стала ще більш очевидною, і це відкрило мені новий погляд на свою ситуацію. Я і раніше намагалася знайти щось позитивне в вітіліго, але справжню цінність своєї унікальності я усвідомила тільки в той раз", – розповідає Ешлі.

I get stretch marks just like everyone else regardless of if I have a skin condition or not. I go through all the same struggles you all go through that's why I preach self love so much. I don't care if I have to repeat myself in every caption to love who you are regardless if you have tiger stripes, #vitiligo, or whatever the case may be. I'll sound like a broken record each time because at least someone reminded you to appreciate and love yourself unconditionally always

Обмалювавши всі свої плями на шкірі за допомогою маркера, Ешлі раптом зрозуміла, що в її голові ці контури викликають все нові і нові образи. Це і карта світу зі своїми новими континентами, і картини художників - особливо добре вписувалася картина Ван Гога "Зоряна ніч," і квіти, і хакі-мотиви.

It's crazy what years difference can make, right picture was before I had vitiligo - always with a smile on my face and joking around, I was super outgoing. Bottom right is when my vitiligo first started spreading and that's when the jokes started which caused me to never wear shorts or short sleeves again. I've been called cow, I even was once told I had Michael Jackson syndrome. How can an innocent girl trying to find herself take that? Both pictures on the left represent confidence, making something negative into a positive. When life gives you lemons what do you do? Make the best of it. No, I wasn't born with it, I grew into it which was the hardest thing I've ever been through. But now I look back and I'm happy that I went through it because I wouldn't be as strong as I am today #selflove #vitiligo #bodypositivity

I'm a little late on this but happy new year to all you angels, wishing you nothing but the best. This has honestly been my best year yet. I've grown as a person. I've reached a level of self love I never thought possible. I started believing in myself but most importantly I've never been more content and happy internally.
